COVID-19 Pandemic Notice No. 1, Friday, 20 March 2020: Important Consular Notice

In light of the evolving situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic and the declaration by the president of the United States that the COVID-19 outbreak is a national emergency, the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Washington, D.C. wishes to advise the Zambian nationals and its clients that the embassy would with immediate effect limit the number of in-person interviews for passport renewals, in-person visa applications and related matters to less than five clients per day.

However, visa applicants are encouraged to submit their applications through postage mail.

The embassy will continue to review the situation and clients would be advised accordingly if there are further changes to the adjusted schedules.

In the meantime, all Zambian nationals in the USA are encouraged to consult with current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) operating guidelines at https://www.coronavirus.gov
