Zambian U.S. Mission Collaborates With Zambians In Chicago To Market Its Tourism At The Chicago Travel and Adventure Show

The Zambian Mission in the U.S. over the weekend joined forces with Zambians in Chicago to market its tourism potential to Over 30,000 attendees comprising of tour operators, travel agents and potential tourists at the 2018 Chicago Travel and Adventure Show.

And the Zambian Heritage Association of Chicago (ZHAC) has welcomed the move by the Zambian Embassy in Washington D.C to engage the Association in supplementing the Mission’s efforts in showcasing the country’s tourism profile in Chicago, the third largest city in the U.S. ZHAC President Blair Siajunza has also hailed newly appointed Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula S.C. for embracing an open door policy in fostering collaboration between the Embassy and Zambians in the diaspora.

Mr Siajunza who was flanked by the association’s board chairperson Victor Mwaba has urged members of his association to be exemplary in supplementing Government’s efforts in marketing Zambia as the top African destination for Americans. The duo said this at the Zambian stand during the event held at the Donald Stephens Convention Centre over the weekend.

And First Secretary Tourism, Marsha Achiume-Holdway, thanked the Association leaders and members who worked tirelessly to disseminate information, and sell Zambia’s tourism to both tour operators and potential tourists throughout the weekend. Mrs. Achiume-Holdway further urged the Association leadership to encourage its members to explore business opportunities in the tourism Industry, drawing from the U.S lucrative market.

“I’m glad to note that some members of ZHAC have already expressed interest in starting up their own tour companies that will focus on the exclusive selling of Zambian tourism products to the U.S market,” She said.

The Chicago Travel and Adventure Show is one of the top five in the USA. The Embassy which recently participated in the Washington DC Travel Show is also scheduled to take part in the Los Angeles travel shows slated for February 24th and 25th 2018.
