Edgar Lungu is Zambia’s 6th President
PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has won the presidential election to become the sixth President. Mr Lungu polled 807,925 votes beating his closest rival Hakainde Hichilema of UPND who polled 780,168 votes. Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda declared Mr Lungu as President at 22:00 hours . Mr Lungu’s votes represent 48.33 percent while Mr Hakainde’s votes represent 46.67 percent. FDD president Edith Nawakwi polled 15,321 of the total votes cast. Mr Lungu’s votes represent 48.33 percent while Mr Hakainde’s votes represent 46.67 percent. FDD president Edith Nawakwi polled 15,321 of the total votes cast.
