The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Washington DC organised a 2009 Youth Day Celebration whose theme was "Partnership for National Development". The event which was held on the 14th March, 2009 was graced by Her Excellency the Ambassador, Dr. Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika. Other speakers included Dr. Kenneth Mwenda a Senior Counsel in the Legal Vice Presidency of the World Bank,Dr. Mwizenge Tembo, Associate Professor of Sociology at Bridgewater College in Virginia and Mr. Chola Milambo currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at Howard University. At the end of the function, the Youths were presented with Certificates of Attendance by the Minister Counsellor at the Zambian Embassy,Mr. Newstead Zimba.
