Finance Minister Dr. Bwalya Ng’andu Concludes 2019 IMF/WBG Meetings

Finance Minister Dr Bwalya Ng’andu is seen off at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia by Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States H.E. Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula on Monday, October 21, 2019

Washington D.C., Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019 – Finance Minister Dr Bwalya Ng’andu on Monday left Washington D.C after attending the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group (WBG) meetings. Dr Ng’andu said the meetings with the IMF and WBG were “straightforward and candid” and have laid a firm foundation which should be able to create a basis for continued cooperation.

Here he is seen off at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia by Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States H.E. Dr. Ngosa Simbyakula.

Dr Ng'andu led a delegation that included Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Finance and Economic Development) Christopher Mvunga and Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba. Others who represented the country at the Annual Meetings were Bank of Zambia Governor Dr Denny Kalyalya, Ministry of National Development Planning Permanent Secretary (Monitoring and Evaluation) Dennis Chisenda, Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary (Economic Management & Finance) Mukuli Chikuba.
