MEXICO AND ZAMBIA TO COLLABORATE ON SOLAR ENERGY INVESTMENTS

WASHINGTON, D.C., August, 2025. Mexican Ambassador to the United States of America Esteban Moctezuma says his country is open to collaborating in solar-energy investments with Zambia.
Mr. Moctezuma also said Mexico is ready to exchange development technology opportunities in the oil and gas industries with Zambia.
Mr. Moctezuma said this at the Mexican Cultural Institute, when Zambia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Chibamba Kanyama delivered his letters of credence in preparation for his presentation to the Mexican President Her Excellency President Claudia Sheinbaum for accreditation as a Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the Republic of Mexico, with residence in Washington, D.C.
He said there is need for the two countries to exchange innovations particularly in the energy sector.
Mr. Moctezuma said his country has invested well in sectors that play a crucial role in driving Mexico's economic development and stability.
And Dr. Kanyama explained that following the drought that Zambia experienced in the 2023-2024 season,
the country is doubling up its efforts by massively investing in the energy sector.
Dr. Kanyama stated that Zambia will continue to learn from countries that have invested well in key economic sectors such as Mexico.
