President Hichilema Participates in Discussion Led by U.S. Institute of Peace CEO, Lise Grande

Washington D.C., Thursday, 23 September 2021 – President Hichilema took part in a discussion led by the Chief Executive Officer of the United States of America Institute of Peace, Ambassador Lise Grande.

He wrote:

“Our conversation centred around peace and unity in the World and the need for democratic values, human rights and, freedoms and civil liberties.

We stated our vision of ensuring equality for all citizens and that we will tackle poverty and unequal distribution of wealth in Zambia because we believe that you cannot share poverty.

We wish to thank the Moderator, Ambassador George E. Moose who is also the Vice Chair of the Board, U.S. Institute of Peace, Dana Banks, Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Director for Africa, National Security Council and Ambassador Johnnie Carson, Senior Advisor, U.S. Institute of Peace, for the opportunity and being part of the discussion.”
